"The Watchers of East Mebon"
Stone towers rise like prayers to sky,
In silence old as gods gone by.
Their doors, still dark, hold echoes deep—
Of kings and rites, of monks who weep.
Each stair a step through sacred years,
Each block a weight of mortal fears.
Lions guard with empty breath,
Their eyes long blind to time or death.
Between the bricks, the jungle creeps,
As if the Earth itself still keeps
A vow to hold what man forgets—
The soul that stone and spirit sets.
So stand they now, these shrines of flame,
Unmoved by storm, unnamed by name.
The sky above, a bruised lament—
The gods within, long homeward went.
