In many countries, original works of art are exempt from import fees or duties, but for high value works a customs broker must process the import.

In any case, where not exempt, customers are responsible for paying any and all international fees, duties, customs and taxes.  I encourage you to contact your local postal service or customs bureau for more information.

You will need to act quickly as customs doesn’t have a large window of time to process shipments.  After a few weeks the artworks will either be sent back to us or become property of the government.  If they are sent back there will be additional shipping fees to have the artwork returned to you.

This can be done one of two ways:

1.  Simply click the Remove button on item listing you desire to remove from your shopping cart;

or 2.  Change the quantity, entering the new quantity desired.

I pride myself on making prints of the highest standard with a service level to match, this is why I offer a satisfaction guarantee on all orders.  If you are not happy with your purchase for any reason, contact me soon after delivery for a replacement print or a refund.  Please see my Refund & Returns Policy for details.

Print Production

The size of each print is given at the top of the page describing that print as Height x Width, in both inches and centimetres.

The sizes given are for the printed area, and each print will have an additional 1 inch (2.5 cm) border (or margin) on each side to enable easy framing.

I use the bottom border to sign and number each print.

Prints of other sizes, with a height of up to 60 inches, 150 cm, are available on request.

Limited Edition means that there will only ever be a predetermined number of prints produced of each piece.  Once the edition sells out, there will never be another reprint of that edition.

Each of my works is strictly limited to the production of a small number prints.  I also make two artist’s proofs (APs) of each edition.  These artist’s proofs are made to ensure quality, they are kept in my personal collection, and they may never be made available to the public.

Every print that I make is unique, individually crafted, and signed and numbered on the recto (front) border by me personally.  Each print is accompanied by a unique certificate of authenticity, embossed and secured with a Hologram Security System, to certify and preserve the authenticity and provenance of your artwork, particularly relevant should the artwork change ownership in future.

When a new piece is released for sale it is made available in strictly limited numbers, and the prices are set based on a multiple of linear size (height + width) of the printed area.  That multiple reflects the time, skill, and dedication that I put into my craft, the exquisite quality of my prints, and my proven track record of print sales.

The first few prints in each new edition are keenly priced to reward collectors who invest early.  As the limited edition starts to sell out, the price increases.  Because the edition sizes are so strictly limited, prices can sometimes increase quite quickly.

Unless otherwise requested, your print will be delivered to your door unmounted and unframed.

Professional fine art framing using the finest sustainable materials and solid woods is available on request.

I do not.  I only make limited edition museum quality archival prints on fine art paper.

Every print that I make is unique, individually crafted, and signed and numbered on the recto (front) by me personally.

Once ready for print, each of my limited edition prints is presented on a museum-grade, fine art paper stock, with guaranteed archival qualities.  All prints are made and quality checked to my exacting standards by my team of master fine art printmakers, before being shipped to you.  My final production facilities are in either London, England, or in Düsseldorf, Germany, depending on where the order is placed.

Yes it is!  Your order’s carbon footprint is offset and invested in renewable energy through The Gold Standard program, the investment approach recommended by Greenpeace.  This includes the emissions produced by worldwide delivery.

Shipping & Returns

Your purchased artwork will be delivered to your door with a no quibble satisfaction guarantee should you be unhappy in any way.

All prints are supplied unmatted and unframed unless otherwise specified.

Great care is taken in ensuring the safe, efficient and protected delivery of your purchased artwork.

Firstly, the work is carefully covered with acid-free tissue paper.

Smaller prints are shipped flat in a sturdy protective envelope.

Larger prints are rolled and bubble wrapped, eliminating the danger of any scratches or folds.  Wrapped up and ready to go, your order is placed into a robust cardboard tube, secured and sealed at both ends.

Once sealed, artworks are despatched efficiently via Deutsche Post DHL Group Tracked and Signed For services, usually within 1 working day of receiving your order, ensuring your artwork is delivered both quickly and safely.

No.

I ensure full coverage for all shipments.  I will replace or repair any damages that occur during transit from my production facility to the destination address listed on your order.  I cannot insure shipments once they have been transported from the original delivery destination.

I craft each print individually to order, which will usually take me 2 to 3 days.  I will contact you as soon as I receive your order with an estimated delivery date.

Once shipped, the express courier will typically aim to deliver your artwork within 3 to 10 business days, though this may vary for some international destinations.  Please see my Shipping Policy for details.

If you are required to clear the artwork through customs, packages typically arrive at the local customs office within 3 to 10 business days.  Delivery date to the final destination is based on the collector’s response and cooperation during the clearance process.

Once your order has shipped, I will email you the tracking number and a link to the tracking information page on the courier's website.

I pride myself on making prints of the highest standard with a service level to match, this is why I offer a satisfaction guarantee on all orders.  If you are not happy with your purchase for any reason, contact me within 14 days of delivery for a replacement print or a refund.  Please see my Refund Policy for details.

If the package shows signs of damage, it is your right to inspect the art before signing for it.  Please do not refuse delivery.  Instead ensure that the driver notes that the piece was damaged.  Please keep all of the original packaging. Submit at least 4-6 digital photographs of the box and any damage to the artwork to customerservice@lucasvarro.com if possible.  A request for repair or replacement will only be honoured if submitted within 14 days of delivery.

Neither I, Lucas Varro, nor any affiliated carrier is responsible for damage incurred during hanging or during any secondary transportation after initial delivery.  For this reason, it is strongly recommended that each piece be carefully inspected upon receipt.

I do not offer a “buy back” program.  Additionally, when it comes to the potential selling of any piece in your collection, I do not handle or participate in third party transactions or secondary market sales.  I strongly suggest doing thorough market research and consulting a certified professional appraiser.  They will be able to assist in answering more detailed questions about this process.

Care & Handling

All of my limited edition prints are presented on a museum-grade, fine art paper stock, with guaranteed archival qualities.  The paper has a delicate surface, so I recommend extra care when handling.  The printed surface can easily be damaged and should not be touched with bare hands, and the paper’s texture means edges can fray if not carefully handled.

To maximise your enjoyment of my work, and the lifetime of your investment, I also recommend that you have your print professionally mounted and framed, preferably behind UV-filtering museum-quality glass or acrylic.

My largest prints, with a short side of 60" (152.6 cm), will require specialist framing and mounting services that may not be readily available where you live.

Lighting your artwork properly involves using a mixture of spotlights and spreads.  The proper degree of spread will depend on the distance of the light fixture from the artwork.  While several light bulbs can sufficiently light your image, I use MR16 halogen bulbs in my own home.  It is best to seek the advice of an electrician or lighting professional to ensure the proper installation of lighting to complement your space.
