Stone Demon of the Causeway
Split by time, yet standing still,
He grips the naga, fierce and chill.
A face of war and silent grace,
Cracked in two –but holds his place.
Eyes once burning, now worn grey,
Still watch the gods across the way.
A thousand rains have kissed his brow,
But none could fell his purpose now.
He was no devil, no simple shade –
But force and balance, unafraid.
His crown is chipped, his lips are sealed,
Yet in his gaze, the myth revealed.
He pulled the serpent through the tide,
With devas bright on the other side.
Together they churned the ocean wide –
For life, for death, for what may bide.
O guardian of the sacred gate,
Chiseled with resolve, not hate,
Though tourists pass and moss may grow,
Your ancient strength still hums below.
