To be redented means having salient and re-entrant angles; indented, stepped.
Redenting is an architectural treatment of a structure in plan whereby the corners are indented (cut back) into successive right angles.
Many Angkor temples and structures are redented, as are many Thai temple and palace bases, an inheritance from Khmer architecture.
