Tara (Khmer: តារា, meaning "star") is the Queen of Kishkindha and wife of the monkey (vanara) King Valin in the Hindu epic Ramayana. After being widowed (Valin was killed by Rama, an Avatar of Vishnu), she becomes the Queen of Sugriva, Valin's brother.
