Valin, also known as Vali or Bali, was the Monkey King of the Vanara kingdom of Kishkindha in the Hindu epic Ramayana.
Valin was the husband of Tara, son of Indra, biological son of Vriksharaja, elder brother of Sugriva, and father of Angada.
He was killed by Rama, an Avatar of Vishnu; Valin had defeated some of the greatest warriors, like Ravana, as he was blessed with the ability to obtain half the strength of his opponent. Only Rama and Hanuman possessed the power to fight Valin since they were all-powerful.
