Asuras

1 min read

Asuras are demon deities (anti-gods) fighting the gods for supremacy, they are malevolent beings, demons with supernatural powers.

Asuras and gods are locked in perpetual conflict, although in the Churning of the Ocean of Milk they act, albeit temporarily, in concert.

Asura originally meant something quite different in the Rig Veda - a divine being.
