The Golden Hours of Angkor

There are evenings at Angkor when the light does not merely fall upon the stone—it seems to rise from within it. As if the temples themselves remember the sun.

This collection gathers such moments. Each photograph was captured on film and shaped with care, then hand-toned in vibrant golden hues to honour the radiance the artist saw and felt as dusk descended. These are not embellishments, but revelations: light made visible through devotion, shadow deepened to give it breath.

Here, gold is not ornamental—it is ancestral. It sings in the carvings, it sleeps in the laterite, it stirs awake in the apsara’s smile. What Lucas Varro offers is not a reproduction of color, but a remembrance of presence—an alchemy of tone and stillness.

In this series, light is not fleeting. It lingers. It listens. It leads us inward.
