The images I make are, in general, black and white. I do this because I feel that monochrome enables me to best capture the spirit of these places, to express how they make me feel, my vision, the mystery, the weight of time, the magic!
I do actually use colour in all of my images to enhance the mood and sense of depth that I’m creating, but that’s mostly subliminal.
But sometimes the overt use of colour, usually still monochromatic in essence, helps me to express my vision, it plays an important role in how the scene makes me feel, in what I want to convey in my work.
