Recent works by Lucas Varro
In the hush before first light, when the temples breathe mist and memory, Lucas Varro returns—carrying with him a gaze shaped by years of devotion and the quiet patience of analogue film.
These most recent images from the Spirit of Angkor series are not merely photographs but meditations drawn from the living stone. Each one was captured on large or medium format black-and-white film, then slowly shaped in the darkroom and hand-toned by the artist to reveal the soul within shadow. A fallen apsara, a guardian veiled in rain, a single beam of light crossing centuries—these are the moments Varro offers: stillness made visible, reverence held in silver and ash.
Printed on museum-grade Hahnemühle Bamboo paper and available in strictly limited editions, each work is accompanied by a Collector’s Print Package including poetic writings, curatorial texts, and field notes from the artist’s daily pilgrimages.
These newest works are not just seen—they are felt. They invite you to pause, to listen, and to enter once more the sacred quiet that lives between root and stone, breath and time.
